Quiltfest 2020
40 Years and Still Stitching
40 Years and Still Stitching
Individual members of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles were challenged to create work to celebrate the 40 Years since the Quilters’ Guild was founded.
The Challenge title was ‘Forty Years and Still Stitching’ and all quilts had to be three layers, with a drop of 40 inches in length and a width of anything up to a maximum of 40 inches. Everything else was up to the maker to decide.
Some of the pieces were made by founder members of the Quilters’ Guild and some by more recent members who have quilted for just a few months.
The interpretations range across many levels and aspects of design ideas, of different skills and techniques, of the use of fabrics and threads, resulting in the variety of interesting pieces seen in the exhibition.
Quiltfest 2020 organisers would like to say thank you to all those who accepted this challenge and created a piece for visitors to enjoy.
