Bob and Magie dressed for the Trading Day and proudly showing their new book 'African Wax Print: A Textile Journey'.
Magie Relph aided and abetted by her Saturday Boy Bob, will be showing some of her African quilts at Llangollen Museum next year.
Keep checking the website for details of opening dates and times.
Ferret will be the guest exhibitor next year and will be bringing her log arm quilting machine to show how she does all those fabulous designs. She has already had some of her work shown at Quiltfest - you may remember her Nudes triptych.
Ferret will also be holding a one day workshop during the exhibition fortnight.
Sunday 13th February is the last day to see DeAnne's quilts. DeAnne is a well known Welsh quilter who works by hand (she doesn't own a sewing machine) using Welsh wool flannel. She also creates stunning Welsh landscape pictures. Don't miss her!
The main hall will house the Trading Day. There will be a great range of items for sale such as ethnic and exotic textiles, dyes, paints, threads and embellishments. There will also be quilting fabrics and books, in fact something for everybody!
Refreshments will be served upstairs.
Plas Newydd, home of the Ladies of Llangollen
The Guardian newspaper has mistakenly stated in their weekly Arts magazine that the exhibition of By Design group quilts is on show at Plas Newydd Anglesey. This is a National Trust property and it will not be open in February. It is also about 60 miles away from LLangollen so it's a long way to travel and not see our super show!
So please ensure that you tell your friends and fellow quilters to visit us in Llangollen. There are 3 exhibtion sites and now there is a small collection of work by 2 Chester quilters in the library.
The item on DeAnne's exhibition at Quiltfest on Wedi 7 on S4C
includes a live item from the gallery and a filmed piece at DeAnne's home. The
other two ladies interviewed are members of Dyffryn Clwyd Quilters.
The show is now available on the web here http://www.s4c.co.uk/clic/e_level2.shtml?programme_id=454514126 - just choose the programme broadcast on Tuesday February 1st - it will be available for 6 days. There's a button top right to select the English version of the web
page, and there's an option to have subtitles too - clic on the owl button just
below the TV 'screen'

The Welsh TV network S4C has been to DeAnne's house in to film her working at her traditional Welsh quilting frame and will be filming her at The Royal International Pavilion this week!
There will be a link to the programme when we know it!.
