A selection of her prizewinning miniatures will be on show along with an exhibition of work of the By Design group.
So make a date and come along to meet Sandra!
You may remember this piece which won 1st prize in the miniatures section at Quilts UK at Malvern in 2010 and 3rd prize at Festival of Quilts in 2009.
One important feature of Quiltfest has always been the teams of friendly and helpful stewards at each venue. Their role is to welcome visitors, to answer questions, to keep a watchful eye on whatever is going on in their space, intervening tactfully when necessary and also to 'demonstrate' something of some favourite technique - which need not be P&Q related. This in fact means that the majority bring along a piece of their own current work to keep them happily occupied if visitors are few in number - but which makes a talking point for visitors who may know very little about modern textiles and are delighted to be able to learn something in an informal setting. If you would be able to help with stewarding (half-a-day minimum), please contact me at email@example.com with your offers and I will try to fit you in on the data-bases. Please check the website before replying and state which venue as well as which date! Why not fill up a car and make a good day out with time to visit the other venues as well as doing a stint stewarding?
Happy New Year from the Quiltfest Team!
We hope that you will be planning to visit this year's exhibition which is the 10th annual show in the pretty town of Llangollen in North Wales.
Why not look at the workshop we have planned and have a go with new materials and new techniques?
We are now inviting people to steward at the exhibition. If you are interested please contact us.
If you have any queries or questions please don 't hesitate to get in touch.
