After a very busy day in the gallery yesterday, Quiltfest 2014 is now up and running. Rob Howell, Barbara's son was with us and coaxed the hanging team into shape. It has always been Val Shields' philosophy not to have quilt stands in order to create a gallery atmosphere and you will be amazed at the way some of the quilts are displayed!
We had 38 visitors today which is a very good start so don't forget to make a date in your diary and make a trip to see this colourful display before it ends on 14th February. Please note that like last year we are not open for the whole of February. But good news, the exhibition of quilts at The Museum and Art Gallery is open until 5th March.
Now the downs: unfortunately, Kaleidoscope and Art Van Go are not able to attend the Trading Day.
We were hoping to have 'Hashad' displayed but it is privately owned and living in France: but Marble Floor is on show - one of my favourites.
